There’s No Place Like Home – from Ireland to Kansas to Ireland Again
Fresh from the release of their debut LP A Hunger, alt-rock four-piece Carswell & Hope hit the road for an Irish tour July/August 2014. Based in Lawrence, Kansas, the band formed in early 2012, when Irish singer-songwriter Nick Carswell (The Elective Orchestra, The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra) arrived in the US Midwest with guitar in tow. Soon upon arriving, he joined with Jason Slote (drums), Dan Hines (bass) and Austin Quick (keys) to form Carswell & Hope. Nearly three years later the band have released their self-produced debut on the Silly Goose Records collective. Drawing from the world of The Beatles, Wilco and The Frames, the music is a blend of psychedelic, Pink Floyd interrupting Motown, and channeling Van Morrison.
With generous support from over 140 Indiegogo contributors and ArtsKC Metropolitan Arts Council, the band play a series of Irish dates this July & August in their Summer Tour.
