Video: “Johnny’s Sorry Lot”

It’s here! The first proper taste of new music from Carswell & Hope, with video to boot!

In mid-December (as we were approaching that time the world didn’t end), we packed up guitars, drums, amps, lamps and rugs and hit the performance studio of Kansas Public Radio to rehearse material for recording sessions planned for January 2013. We set up a few cameras, and what follows is the result. Aside from the static cameras, everyone did a little filming. Nick put his editing skills to work while Jason mixed the audio from the live performance. Rehearsals like this is what we’ve been doing for the past year. Now you know.

“Johnny’s Sorry Lot” is the first taster from A Hunger, what will be Carswell & Hope‘s debut record in 2013. Nick wrote the song directly as a result of life in Kansas and the imagined Mid-West of old, with its dusty plains and wagon trails. It is the first of the new material written in 2012 and brought to life by Carswell & Hope. We look forward to sharing the rest with you. In the meantime, enjoy!
